Charter
The Financial & Administrative Information Council (FAIC) serves as a subcommittee of the Information Management Committee (IMC). In this role, the FAIC provides input to the IMC regarding business processes as well as the use of technologies to improve financial and administrative activities across the MUSC enterprise. THE FAIC also works in coordination with other IMC subcommittees and Special Interest Groups (SIGs). In this role the FAIC helps develop and apply policy and strategy, and assists with operational oversight for all financial and administrative activities performed across the MUSC enterprise. The FAIC also performs, or directs the performance of, tasks and actions as directed by the IMC.
Functions
Working in close partnership with the IMC and other participants in the MUSC IT Governance process, the FAIC performs the following functions:
- Assists with the formulation and articulation of a vision for the deployment and use of financial and administrative processes and information across MUSC.
- Helps the IMC develop and maintain a “roadmap” for MUSC's future educational, research, and clinical environments, featuring the role of information and IT in enabling desired future-state operations
- Recommends to the IMC major IT procurement, funding and cost allocation decisions and strategies.
- Helps establish, maintain, assess, and continuously improve processes and standard mechanisms for 1) managing financial and administrative information investments; 2) assessing performance and results; and 3) sharing lessons learned throughout the organization.
