Core Clinical Systems
Responsibilities and Areas of Oversight
- Enterprise level service support function
- Lead and manage the design, development, implementation, and
ongoing support of information systems in support of the clinical
enterprise at MUSC, including the hospital, ambulatory care, and
associated physician practices
- Direct the design, purchase, and/or development and implementation
of systems to ensure that the technology infrastructure and functionality
will meet end-user requirements
- Work closely with the CIO and other senior executives and managers
across the operating entities of the clinical enterprise to create
a commonly shared vision for information systems
- Participate actively with hospital / UMA administrators, department
heads, clinicians and information technology personnel to develop
strategies, execute tactics, set priorities, and resolve challenges
for the enterprise and ensure integration and accordance with enterprise
standards and practices
- Work with CIO and other directors in OCIO to ensure that
strategic missions of the university are accomplished, aligning
resources to meet shared goals of MUSC
- Maintain currency on new technologies, trends, and issues and
serve as a resource and technical consultant to all of the organizational
entities across MUSC
