Program Benefits This online graduate program focuses on processes of teaching-learning theory and modalities, program development and outcome evaluation and research/data utilization. Clinical experiences allow for application of theoretical knowledge in the student’s selected specialty area. Career Opportunities Graduates of this program have the opportunity to be employed in a variety of settings such as hospitals, clinics, public health departments, and schools of nursing. Admission Options Post-BSN Registered nurses (RN) with a BSN degree are admitted to the Masters Program and graduate with a MSN. Post-MSN CertificateRegistered nurses (RN) with a MSN degree seeking a second area of specialty will be awarded a certificate, not a second master's degree. Post-BSN or Post-MSN students enrolled in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program can add the Nurse Educator courses to their program plan study to sit for NLN Nurse Education certification and/or for a dual major in Nurse Education. Course Descriptions Graduate nursing course descriptions can be found here. Clinical Experiences Nurse Educator students are offered a Mentored Teaching course that will prepare them for future roles as nurse educators. Options include, but are not limited to: online teaching, classroom teaching, clinical preceptor, and simulation lab. Students will be partnered with one of MUSC faculty or an outside expert in the chosen area of concentration.
