| Scholarships Eligibility
To be considered for a College of Nursing scholarship, you must be a fully matriculated student (full-time or part-time) in the BSN, MSN, DNP, or PhD degree programs. In addition, students must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) via the web at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The FAFSA must be updated annually.
Scholarship Award Process The College of Nursing is responsible for awarding any scholarships that are established through the MUSC Foundation. Any full or part time students enrolled in the College of Nursing are eligible for scholarships. A separate application is not required, however a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is highly recommended. All newly admitted students who have paid their matriculation fees and continuing students in good standing will be considered for scholarships. Scholarship allocations are made fall, spring, and summer semesters and reported to the Office of Financial Aid and Office of Student Accounting. Awards are made based on academic standing, financial need, and scholarship criteria. The mission and values of MUSC and the College of Nursing may also be considered. The Director of Student and Alumni Relations makes recommendations to a scholarship task force comprised of program directors. The Director of Development works with donors to establish scholarship criteria and adherence. The Director of Student and Alumni Relations completes a scholarship annual report. Students receiving scholarship awards are expected to write a thank you note and provide a copy to the Director of Student and Alumni Relations. The Director of Development may request a donor/recipient meeting. (Click for a sample thank you note)
