Scholarship Award Process

The College of Nursing is responsible for awarding any scholarships that are established through the Health Sciences Foundation. Any full or part time students enrolled in the College of Nursing are eligible for scholarships. Students must be in good academic standing and have a current Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) completed via the FAFSA website.

Each June, all newly admitted and continuing students who have paid their
matriculation fees will be considered for scholarships. The student's name,
program of study, cumulative grade point average, and estimated family
contribution as calculated by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid
(FAFSA) are entered onto a spread sheet. Funds are generally allocated for the fall semester, but if additional funds are available, may also be disbursed for the spring and summer semesters.

Awards are made based on academic standing, financial need, and scholarship criteria. This mission and values of MUSC and the College of Nursing may also be considered. The Director of Student and Alumni Relations makes recommendations to a scholarship task force for award approval. The Director of Student and Alumni Relations works closely with the College of Nursing Director of Development to establish scholarship criteria and adherence. The Director of Student and Alumni Relations  completes an annual report.
