Student Research Day
All third and fourth year MCBP students are required to submit an abstract in Student Research Day. Student Research Day is held on the first Friday of November of each year.

MCBP Student Research Day 2003 Winners

We want to congratulate all the students who participated in the Student Research Day this year. It was clear from the posters and the talks that we heard that the quality of science and the presentations continues to go up each year. This year we have several MCBP students who received awards. We want to especially congratulate each of you as well as your mentors. Clearly these awards recognize your excellence as well as reflect the quality of the laboratories that you work in.

The winners include:
Ph.D. Oral I: 1st Place - Adrian Grimes (Mentors, Drs. Greg Warr and Paul Gross), 2nd Place - Jessica Paulk (Mentor, Dr. Steve Kubalak)
Ph.D. Poster I: 2nd Place - Anne Deschamps (Mentor, Dr. Frank Spinale)
Ph.D. Poster II: 2nd Place - Gregor Krings (Mentor, Dr. Deepak Bastia)
Ph.D. Oral III: 1st Place - Lena Heung (Mentor, Dr. Maurizio Del Poeta)

2003 Kinerd-Gadsden Graduate Alumni Award: Tied for 1st
Patrick Brian Giles (Mentor, Dr. Chris Drake), and Ravinder Pannu (Mentor, Dr. Inderjit Singh)

Finally, we want to thank Dr. Eric James and his committee who have done so much to make Student Research Day a highlight of the academic year.
