Research:

 Molecular basis of immune recognition & ecogenomics. The focus of my laboratory is on the molecular basis of immune recognition, and how mechanisms of self/non-self discrimination have evolved. We use a variety of marine organisms, from invertebrates to dolphins, to investigate at a molecular level the nature of the organism’s response to environmental challenges, including infectious disease.
