Research:

Coral health and disease. My laboratory studies interactions between marine microbiota and macrophytes. Most recently, we have focused on diseases of corals, gorgonians and reef associated organisms. This includes pathogen identification, pathogenic mechanisms, and the origins of pathogenic strains. In addition, we are determining the overall distribution of these diseases in the world’s oceans.
