Research:
Synthetic and natural marine products chemistry, mass spectrometry, and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Our work is focused on marine natural product chemistry. Though not exclusive, our particular interests center on marine biotoxins originating from dinoflagellates. Structural chemistry is carried out on several mass spectrometers as well as a 500 MHz NMR. Chromatographic sciences also play a role in the isolation and purification of these compounds. We utilize a large array of techniques, such as HPLC, MPLC, low pressure, long column, centrifugal chromatographs, TLC, as well as other purification methodologies.
