Research:
Studies of autoimmunity and the triggers of systemic autoimmune disease. My laboratory is primarily interested in studies of autoimmunity and the triggers of systemic autoimmune disease. One of the triggers we are studying is environmental exposures. Two specific areas of investigation are the studies of the effects of trichloroethylene on lupus prone mice and case control studies of genetic/environmental exposures in patients with SLE compared to matched controls. The TCE studies are being conducted in collaboration with Dr. Margie Peden-Adams.
