This ninety acre historic site is seven miles from the downtown medical campus. It houses five institutions representing the full diversity of modern marine science,
- Marine Biomedicine & Environmental Sciences (MBES)
- Grice Marine Lab (Grice)
- South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR)
- National Institutes of Standards & Technology (NIST)
- National Ocean Service (NOS)
All five institutions also have additional laboratories in the new Hollings Marine Lab (HML)
