                              James Gregg

The Interventional Radiology Division offers four positions per year in its ACGME approved fellowship program. The section, which is staffed by five faculty members, performs procedures on about 6000 patients per year. Our Heart and Vascular center features four state-of-the-art Siemens angiographic suites with the latest in CT technology, including a dual-source CT scanner capable of performing high resolution volumetric imaging for vascular imaging and cardiac imaging.

Our 2012-2013 Fellows

Fellows 2012-13
Dr. Chris Erikson, Dr. Ben Henderson, Dr. Usman Manzoor, Dr. Luke Wilkins and Dr. Ricardo Yamada

In addition to vascular and drainage procedures, the vascular/interventional section routinely performs biopsies under fluoroscopic, CT or ultrasound guidance. A considerable number of vascular cases are interventional in character, ranging from angioplasty, fibrinolytic therapy, embolization and TIPS.

Furthermore, MRI and CT examinations associated with the vascular system, as well as requiring interventional expertise, are performed by members of each section. The fellows are encouraged to participate in the many ongoing clinical trials within the division, as well as animal research.

A tremendous expansion of the services has opened up with the addition of the new Heart and Vascular Center in MUSC's Ashley River Tower.
