Laser
Jet Toner Cartridge Recycling
Computer Connection
For every cartridge that is remanufactured, over 1 pound of plastics is removed
from the waste stream.
Department
of Energy Office of Industrial Technologies
Empty laser jet toner cartridges from any manufacturer are now recycled through the Computer Connection located at 25 Ehrhardt Street.
A recycling agreement through Office Max and Core Recycling Concepts will give MUSC and MUHA credit for the return of any manufacturer’s toner cartridges. Core Recycling will provide monthly reports and these numbers will be added to the MUSC Recycling efforts. When you participate in this program, you not only benefit the institution but also benefit the environment.
How to return the empty toner cartridges for MUSC credit:
1. Drop off any empties when you pick up a new toner at 25 Ehrhardt St.
2. Ask the Computer Connection delivery person to bring back any empties when a new order arrives.
3. If you have collected 10 or more empties, request a pickup by calling 2-2323 or by sending an email to compconn@musc.edu.
4. Request a return box if your department uses a large number of cartridges. A pre-labeled recycle/shipping box is available for your location. These boxes come with UPS ground prepaid shipping labels that any UPS driver will pick up. Using these boxes assures MUSC credit for the returns.
Empties given to the Office Max driver will NOT be added to the MUSC recycling numbers. These are returned, but are placed in the “general population” of returned empties.
Thank you for supporting our recycling drive.
