Microsoft campus agreement

MUSC has a Core CAL Site License for MUSC faculty, staff and students. This site license includes all existing and future Windows, Exchange, SharePoint and Systems Management Servers (SMS) and the CALs (Core Client Access Licenses or user licenses).

In addition to the Core CAL Site License MUSC also purchased Enterprise CALs for all faculty, staff and students. The Enterprise CAL Suite includes the following Servers: Windows, Exchange, SharePoint, Lync (previously Microsoft Office Communications Server), System Center, and Forefront.  Enterprise CALs allow MUSC to run an advanced feature set of Exchange and SharePoint products and to run an advanced feature set of all Microsoft servers. Please see the links below for what servers and features are included in Core and Enterprise CALs.

Microsoft Core Client Access License Suite

The Microsoft Core CAL Suite encompasses these fundamental Microsoft server products:

Office for Mac and Windows

Our Campus Agreement with Microsoft covers any computer (to include laptops) owned by MUSC.

Microsoft Office 2007, Office Professional Plus 2010 for Windows, and Microsoft Office 2008 and Office Standard 2011 for Mac are available for download on institution-Owned or leased machines for institution-related work via the MUSC Software Download site at: http://www.musc.edu/infoservices/software/

Students are not authorized to access this download, but can obtain Microsoft Student Media from Compusult (1-800-992-6058).

To access our Microsoft License Keys go to the Microsoft Licensing Agreement page.  These license keys CANNOT be used for personal computers.

Other Microsoft Products
Contact Paul Croy at 792-9342 to obtain a quote for other Microsoft products such as Microsoft Project Professional 2010, or Microsoft Visio Professional 2010.

Home Use Program
MUSC has purchased the right for you to use Microsoft Software at home under its Microsoft Home Use Program. MUSC Faculty and Staff are eligible for the Microsoft Home Use Program software.
The Home Use Program entitles each qualified employee to a single license of a qualifying Microsoft software program, to be installed on the employee’s home computer.  Employees may not make additional copies of the software.  If you leave the company, your employer discontinues its Software Assurance coverage, or you are no longer a user of the licensed software as part of your employment, your license terminates and you should discontinue use of the software.  Although you cannot purchase more than one license, it does allow for 2 installations on (1) PC and (1) “portable device” (i.e. laptop).

The Home Use Program media and license can be purchased from Compusult.  Please contact Compusult for details at 1-800-992-6058.

Endnote

We have an EndNote Site License for all Faculty, Students, and Staff with home use. Media can be downloaded via the MUSC Software Download page at http://www.musc.edu/infoservices/software/. The point of contact for this application is Teri Lynn Herbert at 792-1370.

We also have EndNote Web available to all Faculty, Staff, and Students.  EndNote Web is a Web-based bibliographic service for students and researchers that organizes personal reference collections and saves time retyping references for course work and publication.  EndNote Web can be accessed going to http://www.myendnoteweb.com/.

SPSS

Adobe

Adobe media and licenses can be purchased through our reseller, CompuSult at 722-0002.

Portable or Home Computer Use: The primary user of the computer on which the software is installed may install a second copy of the software for exclusive use on either a portable computer or a computer located at the primary user's home, provided that the software on the portable or home computer is not used at the same time as the software on the primary computer.

Adobe Acrobat Professional
MUSC has entered into a Term Site License Agreement with Adobe covering Acrobat Professional only.  The Serial Number is for Faculty and Staff of MUSC who need to load Acrobat Professional software on institution-owned or leased machines for institution-related work.  (However, do NOT attempt to install on LYNX-Managed workstations; the application will not work).  The Serial Number is intended for the sole use of the user who has signed for this key.  You can find the link to access the Adobe Acrobat Pro License Key here:  https://www.musc.edu/infoservices/software/

Adobe Student Licensing Option (Available to faculty and staff as well)

We now have the Adobe Student Licensing Option available. This option provides significant savings on certain Adobe products and is available to all faculty, staff and students.

Select Adobe products can be obtained from Compusult as follows.
Each order will receive one license and one CD per unit of product ordered. Each CD has a unique product coupon code. Once each student, faculty member, or staff member has received the license and CD, he or she must log in to a dedicated Adobe website to register the license and unlock the software.

Upgrade pricing is not available through Adobe’s current education programs. If a product version changes, however, current students, faculty, and staff may purchase the new version to continue to take advantage of the spectacular discounts offered in this program. If a student has graduated and is no longer eligible for education discounts, he or she may purchase a standard commercial upgrade of the new version.

Students, faculty and staff may purchase only one copy of a particular product within a 12-month period. They may purchase software for their personal use only and may not resell or distribute the software.

Installation support is available by contacting Adobe Customer Service; toll free, at 800-833-6687.

Coupon redemption or lost serial number support is available by emailing an inquiry to custservice@adobe.studentlicensing.com.

Students, faculty, and staff who obtain software under this program from your institution are responsible for registering the software through a dedicated Adobe website. The website address and unique product coupon code are provided on the CD media. Registration provides students, faculty, and staff with a unique serial number, which activates a license to use the product. The license is personal to the individual, not the institution.

Adobe allows returns only for previous-version products purchased through the Student and Teacher Licensing Program at the time of a new product release. Returns are based on certain guidelines.

For questions or concerns, please email sales@compusult.com or call 800-992-6058. Orders can be completed with Compusult online via MUSC’s Service Site.

MUSC’s Service Site
Compusult has completed a MUSC Service Site and it is ready to use. If you don't see a product on the site, you can send a quote request by simply going to your cart (top right) and select Add Custom Line Item and save your quote request.
