OCIO-IS Client Services

Subject: Remote Control Use

Purpose:

While all OCIO-IS Client Services personnel have reviewed and promised to abide by all confidentiality and security policies, it is essential it retains the trust of its customers. Unfettered access to customer workstations undermines this trust; consequently, all OCIO-IS Client Services personnel will adhere to the following policy on using remote control tools.

Policy:

Workstations
Remote control access to customer workstations requires explicit customer approval and intervention at the time of initial access. This means the customer must be present at the workstation to grant permission. Verbal agreement by the customer to take control of a workstation at a later time, without customer intervention, is explicitly forbidden.

Servers
Servers may be access remotely as needed with the appropriate security and privileges as designated by the owner/administrator (no change).
