Not able to share files between PC and Mac workstations on Homeroom. Problem: If a Windows filename is > 20 characters then a Mac can not see the file on Homeroom. If a Mac filename is > 20 characters then a PC can not see the file. This is with a PC using SMB to access Homeroom and a Mac using AFP to access Homeroom. 7/15/2005 – OCIO will communicate instructions to Windows and Mac users on how to avoid problem. A reminder message when accessing Homeroom is being looked at to determine feasibility.

McAfee Virex (see above) automatic updates apparently does not work with 10.4.4   2/7/2006 - Problem appears to be universal. Can't get through to McAfee for solution. Will keep trying and report when we have a definitive answer.
Mac OS 10.4.5 apparently fixes McAfee Virex problem, but leaves an error message   2-27-06 - (from Jeremy Wolf)
"The latest update on the Mcafee Virex issue is this. If you upgrade Tiger to 10.4.5, Virex eUpdate does work. It will present an error message, but it still installs the newest DAT files. 10.3.3 did not have this problem. and the best way to correct it in 10.4.4, is to upgrade to 10.4.5
