Getting the LYNX Machine Name
It's pretty simple - once you know where to go. All LYNX machine names are "L-", followed by five numbers. Dedicated AutoLog machines (a.k.a., DALs), are D-nnnnn; those names are part of the desktop image, in the lower right.
- Go to the bottom right of the screen, next to the clock. If you do not see a small blue "i" in a white balloon, click on the "<<" next to the clock.
- You should now see this:
- Move your mouse over the "i". You will see information about your workstation, including the machine name, which is also called the "Host Name":
