Deliver policies, standards, processes and technical solutions to improve information
accessibility and customer support.
Vision
MUSC will have continuous infrastructure availability to access secure and
trusted information by the end of 2006.
Goals - 2005
- Security: Develop enterprise-level security strategy and
architecture
- Field Engineering / Desktop: Expand the use of managed
workstations and align staff to support PCs and Macintoshes at all MUSC locations
- Technical Services: Install appropriate data center UPS
and fire system to provide continued availability of systems, develop and
implement an effective data storage solution, consolidate infrastructure software
solutions and build a database management team
- Network Analysis: Eliminate non-manageable network devices,
reduce single points of failure, and enhance troubleshooting tools and processes
- Customer Services: Inventory and document support processes
and build efficient practices
