Identity and Access Management Services (IdAM)
All applications, especially mission critical applications should address three central identity management principles:
- Authorization
- Authentication
- Access
As it applies to MUSC, this means you:
- Have a reason to use any MUSC information management system
- Are who you say you are
- Can access the resources you need
The identity management services OCIO-Information Services will implement to adhere to these principles is called collectively Identity and Access Management (IdAM). The first service offered, "NetID," addresses some authorization and authentication needs. Future projects will include single sign-on and role-based access.
