Exchange Quota
What is my quota and how can I retain mail?
Time:- 183 days to start, down to 90 after retiring IMAP. Applied to main Inbox and Sent Items folders.
- If you need to keep mail within the system longer than 183 days, create subfolders
- Items will roll into Deleted Items and stay there for 14 days
- Graphic look at 180-day rule
- Entire Exchange account ("mailbox") cannot be larger than 200MB
- Individual message cannot be larger than 20MB
- User creates a Personal STorage file (".pst file")
- Information Services wants them stored on “archive1” server
- See instructions for "Long-term E-mail Storage" instructions
What happens when I reach my quota or go over-quota?
When you reach your quota, you will receive a message that you have done so. You will be able to send mail, however, until you reach 210MB; you will still be able to receive. All mail activity (send and receive) will cease at 225MB. At this point, mail being sent to you will be rejected and a notice delivered to the sender.
