- Open Mozilla. Hit Ctrl-2 to open the "Mail & Newsgroups" window (or go to the "Windows" pull-down menu on the top tool bar and select "Mail & Newsgroups").
- From within the Mail and Newsgroups window, go to the "Edit" menu on the top tool bar and select "Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings."
- From here you can use the "Account Wizard" to set up your e-mail preferences. Click on the option at the bottom of the Window that says "Add Account"
- Go through the steps, typing in your name and user id as necessary, using your MNA id: i.e., "smithj" for Jane Smith. Your ID is the first part of your MUSC e-mail address: smithj@musc.edu.
- After clicking "Add Account" from the Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings window, enter your name and e-mail address.
- Select "IMAP" and type "imaps.musc.edu" in the server field.
- Enter your MNA user id.
- Type in your e-mail address or "MUSC Account"
- The next screen you'll see is a review of all the settings you entered. If you see an error, you can click "< Back" at the bottom of the window to return to the previous page and edit the information you entered.
- Click "OK" to exit the setup screen and return to the Mail window. Check the box that says "Use SSL connection." Make sure the server field reads "imaps.musc.edu"
- Next, click on the item that says "Outgoing server" - make sure the server name reads "smtps.musc.edu", the port value is 587 (you may have to change this), and that the "Use SSL connection" button is selected.
- Highlight "Server Settings" in the left window and make sure that "Use Secure SSL Connection" is checked.
- To set up your address book to look for MUSC addresses, select "Composition and Addressing." In the "Addressing" section add a new directory pointing to ldap.musc.edu as the host. Make sure that Base DN field reads: o=MUSC,c=US. Leave the port number as it is.
