TeamFIT

TeamFIT is an 8 week fitness and nutrition program. This program is perfect for anyone needing guidance and accountability with workouts and eating habits. Education sessions include the latest research on effective strength training, injury prevention, and calorie burning. Exercise sessions focus on cross-training and varying activities. A registered dietitian will be available to discuss nutrition for optimal body composition, and healthy eating to avoid chronic disease. Goals include general fitness and nutrition, improved muscle strength, flexibility, and weight control. All fitness levels will be able to apply the knowledge to improve lifestyle habits. It is also a must for anyone starting out and needing the knowledge of how to design effective exercise plans.  

TeamFit is a team approach to wellness.  Participants will be divided up into teams with a fitness trainer assigned to each team. Points will be awarded for team participation as well as individual participation. Points are awarded for attending exercise sessions, educational sessions, and for trying new activities. Winners will be awarded prizes based on points accumulated at the end of the 8 weeks. This program is educational and will challenge you to go beyond what you could accomplish alone. 

The staff includes a registered dietitian and certified fitness trainers. Guest lecturers include physical therapists, exercise physiologist, and MUSC Director of Sports Medicine.

Team FIT is offered each January. Sign up for January 2008 will begin Nov. 15, 2007. Space is limited. Applications will be on this website and at the membership desk at the Wellness Center.
