| As a new hire to MUSC,
we would like to welcome you to what we hope will be a rewarding
and rich experience. The following on-line tools are available to
assist you in your introduction to our institution.
Administrative Sign-up
On your first day at work, you will be required to
complete all necessary administrative paperwork. To establish your
work eligibility and identification (I-9 form), you will need to
bring your ID and Social Security Card
(or passport for international employees).
A list of acceptable documents for your I-9 is available here.

Online Training
This training is mandated by OSHA and required by law. The training
is competence based and includes four sections. For each training
section, you are required to read all materials and then answer
all questions correctly before you will be allowed to move to the
next section. The training can be interrupted at any time and can
be resumed at your convenience. To access the training module now,

Online Training. For any questions related to the training,
call (843) 296-4639 and an OSHA-competent employee will answer your
question.
HIPAA Online Training

HIPAA stands for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability
Act. This federal law mandates a standard for privacy and security of
protected health information as well as the standardization of some
electronic transactions within the healthcare industry.
You will be required to complete HIPAA training and to update this
training on an annual basis. It will encompass general HIPAA training
and Healthcare IT Security training. Your supervisor will arrange for
you to complete the on-line training through the CATTS system.
Volunteers, Visiting Scholars, non-paid Student Interns, etc. will be
registered for training by the Department of Human Resources
Management, Employment Services, Room 105 Harborview Office Tower.

New Employee Orientation & Benefits Orientation
For
your convenience, the Department of Human Resources Management offers
a
New Employee Orientation and a Benefits Orientation.
The briefings are held in Harborview Office Tower, Room 803. Check

schedule for the complete calendar.
The New Employee Orientation provides information
about our institution, as well as, resources that may contribute
to your success at MUSC. An overview of the university’s mission,
the components of MUSC University and other valuable information
and contacts are found during the orientation.
Starting a new job is one of the best times to take a serious look
at all the benefits for which you may qualify. Once people have
made their initial choices, they seldom take the time to re-evaluate
their plans over the years. The MUSC University Benefits
