An employee can receive multiple increases on the same effective date. For instance, on July 1st, 2005, Faculty employees can receive a combination of Cost of Living increase FY05 and exceptional performance increase.

Please follow the following procedure:
  1. Calculate the final annual salary and enter the amount on the "funding" tab.
  2. Select the reason corresponding to the largest amount of increase.
  3. In the General Remark section, please detail the reasons for the different increases.
  4. If the increase is due to a promotion, make sure to edit the HR tab (title, code & position #).


For specific intructions related to Cost of Living Increases effective 6/12 and 7/01, please carefully read the preparation guidelines. new

IMPORTANT: Do NOT mention % amounts anywhere on the form for any increase OTHER THAN the Cost of Living. This is very important, as it allows us to expedite the processing of the request.The exact %s will be calculated by HRM.

Examples

A full-time Faculty (originally making $100,000) receives, effective July 1st, 2005, a cost of living increase of 5% and an additional amount corresponding to a Promotion, which bring the final annualized salary to $120,000

  • Action: Assignment Change (since it's a promotion, it involves a class code change and title change)
  • Salary Change Reason: Promotion/Reclassification
  • Annualized Salary: $120,000
  • Notes:

    The salary increase includes a 5% Cost of Living increase.
    The additional amount corresponds to an exceptional pay increase due to promotion to [new title].

  • HRM tab:
    - Indicate the new title and new class code.
    - Delete the slot, as the position will need to be re-slotted in the State HRIS.
