Who is eligible to participate in professional development classes?
Professional development classes are available to faculty and staff,
regardless of experience or educational background. Employees are eligible
for professional development programs without regard to race, color, sex,
religion, national origin, age, disability or veteran status.
What if I have to work when a class is offered?
Many workshops are offered during work hours, and managers are encouraged
to allow employees to participate. Employees who attend professional development
programs during work hours are normally not required to make up time spent
in class.
How do I register for a workshop?
Employees may register online or by completing and printing an online
registration form. Registration is accepted on a first-come basis.
How do I pay for workshops that have a fee?
When you fill out the registration form for a fee-based workshop, you
will need your department’s UDAK number. Fees will be charged to
your department via the UDAK. Please note that supervisory approval must
be obtained before registering for a fee-based workshop.
What about parking?
Employees should park in their usual location and use University Transportation
Services to travel to classes. Those who work off-campus and do not have
access to the shuttle service may call Parking Management (792-3665) to
make arrangements for parking.
