interested in Student Internship opportunities with MUSC University
may contact the Department of Human Resources Management, at (843)

Students must be enrolled full-time in an academic institution
of higher education. The internship must be in fulfillment of the
degree to be obtained. Student Internships are traditionally, non-paid.
It is the student’s responsibility to contact their respective
college’s career office to coordinate the requirements of
the internship. Documentation concerning the internship and any
employer requirements should be secured.
Students performing an Internship must complete an Internship
Application. In addition, a Consent and Authorization for a
Records Check must be completed.

If a suitable internship opportunity is available, the Office of
Human Resources Management will coordinate an interview for the
student. Upon completion of the interview, Human Resources will
be notified if the internship will be “sponsored.”
It is the responsibility of the Student Intern to view MUSC’s
OSHA and HIPAA presentations, complete the requirements of MUSC’s
Employee Health Services. A representative of Human Resources Management
will coordinate scheduling the student for a health screening.
It is the responsibility of the Student Intern to provide documentation
of required immunizations. Any immunizations or tests required by
Employee Health Services will be given, with the consent of the
sponsor. Any costs incurred will be billed to the sponsor’s
department.
When the student has received clearance from Employee Health Services,
has completed the OSHA and HIPAA briefings and has successfully
completed the records check (performed by Human Resources), he/she
should report to Human Resources, 19 Hagood Avenue, Room 105 to
obtain an ID Badge and to discuss parking options. |
