The Heart and Lung Transplant Support Fund operates under the auspices of the Health Sciences Foundation of the Medical University of South Carolina, a non-profit corporation, organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes as provided under Section 501 (c) (3), of the Internal Revenue Code. The express purpose of this organization is to provide financial assistance to transplant recipients, and to provide patient, professional, and community education on the subject of organ donations and transplantation, and other such services.
