MUSC prides itself on its professional staff. The Transplant Center is active in recruiting the most experienced coordinators and administrative support. All heart transplant physicians are board certified/eligible in their specialties. Currently, two of the three heart transplant coordinators are certified clinical transplant coordinators (CCTC). The heart transplant program is a member of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation, Cardiac Transplant Research Database, Collaborative Heart Database, Cancer Study, and the United Network of Organ Sharing (UNOS). The transplant team members attend national and international conferences yearly. Many team members are published in peer reviewed journals and have presented at conferences. The clinical units where the heart transplant patients are cared for are staffed with registered nurses, many certified critical care registered nurses (CCRN).
