Angiosperm Song
(To the tune of “On Top of Old Smokey”)
Written by Sandie Nichols
The parts of a flower are easy to see
The petals attract pollinators, so they can be seen
The sepal’s the outermost layer that covers the bud
The stamen produces pollen, the pistil the seed
The pollen is scattered by wind, birds and bees,
It’s the most important group, with flowers, fruits, and seeds
Seeds are often protected by fleshy, yummy fruit
Animals eat it, and disperse seeds by poop
So, the next time you enjoy, fruit, berries or nuts
Stems, leaves, roots or flowers
Thank the angiosperms
