++++RT PROGRAM NEWS++++

- Get WISE to it (http://wise.berkeley.edu). That December 28th deadline for Assignment #4 is creeping up. Dig out that Assignment notebook, put your hands on those articles and get into the Discussion. If you've misplaced pieces of the assignment, go to http://www.the-aps.org/education/2004rts/assign.htm and look in the green section on the right-hand of the page for links to the PDFs of the articles. Need some password help? Email Kathleen at kkelly@the-aps.org.

- Your holiday break is a good time to start pricing plane tickets for San Diego. I hear that Southwest Airlines has $99 one-way fares. If you haven't booked your hotel room, please do so immediately. Contact Brooke (bbruthers@the-aps.org) with questions.

- Spend those Mini-Grant funds! Your receipts/invoices must be dated December 31, 2004 or earlier. If you're all done spending and have your receipts, why not submit your report? Go to http://www.the-aps.org/education/2004rts/mini-grant.htm to print out/down load a copy of the Report Form.

++++DEADLINES++++

- December 28: Assignment #4 due

- December 31:  Spend Mini-Grant funds

- March 1: Mini-Grant Reports due

++++RESOURCES++++

- The Howard Hughes Medical Institute invites curious kids to explore biology...on screen, off screen, and in between.  Check out  http://www.hhmi.org/coolscience/ for neat online science activities for K-4th grade students and parents.

- Feel like taking a break from the holiday rush? The National Parks Service offers eTrips through their Yellowstone Park Windows Into Wonderland web site. Designed for students in grades 5-8, classes and individuals are encouraged to register free of charge. From the home page, click on the link that corresponds with the eTrip you wish to view - you can meet the wolves or bears of the neighborhood or warm up with fire ecology. Go to http://www.windowsintowonderland.org/index.htm to get started.

++++APS EDUCATION OFFICE NEWS++++

- The APS Offices are closed next Friday (the 24th) and the following Friday (the 31st) for the holidays.

+++++++++++++++++++++++

Have great weekend,

Kathleen
