++++RT PROGRAM NEWS++++

- By now you should have received your Assignment #2 packet. Don't forget to put your papers in your green notebook. Please email Kathleen directly (kkelly@the-aps.org) if you haven't received your packet by Friday.

- This message is coming to you via the 2004 RT listserv. On the 2004 RT website (http://www.the-aps.org/education/2004rts/listserv.htm), you'll find more information about the list serv as well as the individual email addresses of all of the 2004 program participants. Please check your own listing and email Kathleen if you have corrections. If you want to email a 2004 RT directly, use her/his address from this list.

A little more about List servs:

- If you receive an email message "From" an individual (kkelly@the-aps.org, for example) and it is addressed to "Research Teachers" <2004rts@lists.the-aps.org>, then it has come through this listserv and everyone has received it.

- For your outgoing messages, be sure to check the "To" box before you hit "Send." If it says "Research Teachers" <2004rts@lists.the-aps.org>, then your message is going to the entire listserv. If you want to send to just one person, delete the address in the "To" box and cut-and-paste the individual's email address that you want to use.

- Tomorrow, Assignment #1 is due.

The components of Assignment #1 include:

* The Bead Activity (Bead Posters are due at the Forum in July. Make sure your posters are easy to pack!)

* The online Discussion at the Project WISE site (Activity 1). Please add a minimum of 3 comments.

* The online Reflection at the Project WISE site (Activity 2)

If you have questions about Assignment #1, please email Kathleen directly (kkelly@the-aps.org). The Discussion is going great - if you haven't read through it for a while I encourage you to do so...feel free to add more comments!

++++DEADLINES++++

- Assignment #1 is due Friday (May 7th)

- Assignment #2 is "active" today and is due on June 3rd.

++++ALUMNI RT CORNER++++

A note from one of your mentors, Kris Clements (Frontiers 2000):

"Enjoy the assignments!  They made me think about my teaching more than I had done in years.  I still go back and read them to monitor my teaching and where I wish to go with it."

As always, feel free to contact any of us in the Education Office with questions, suggestions or concerns.

Best regards,

Kathleen
