Useful Info for Students

Mid-Carolina AHEC can arrange housing for students in Chester (32 miles away) - NO PETS, PLEASE. (2 free meals per day are available in the hospital cafeteria.) Or, students may arrange to stay with nearby family or friends - Spartanburg is also about 30 miles away. For security reasons, housing details will be provided to students at orientation. Questions may be directed to Donna Kern, MD (kerndh@musc.edu).

Students will be notified one week in advance by email to attend the mandatory clerkship Orientation / Academic Days / OSLE on the first 3 days of the rotation. In addition to clerkship guidelines and instructions, students will be issued laptops with online capability, printers & PDA's--to be used as research and learning too and to produce required clerkship presentations & documents.
