Dr. Allen Kolb grew up on a dairy farm and wanted to settle in a rural area. Dr. Kolb is active in area churches and schools and has significant experience in medical missions.

Dr. Todd is a former partner at Family Medicine Associates and is now full-time Medical Director of Hospice of the Piedmont in Greenwood.  Students rotating with Family Medicine Associates will have the opportunity to work with Dr. Todd in the Hospice setting.

Housing may be available in Greenwood, which is about 12 miles from the practice.

Brian Henry, MD

Dr. Henry likes Due West and its people.  He wanted to practice in an area where he could provide the full scope of care for which he was trained.  Dr. Henry is active in his church.  He does triathlons (swim/bike/run) and is part of a cycling club.  He rides his bike to the office whenever possible.

Useful Info for Students

Housing, when available, is arranged by Upstate AHEC - NO PETS, PLEASE.  Students may arrange to stay with nearby family or friends.  For security reasons, housing details will be provided to students at orientation and via mail from Upstate AHEC.  Questions may be directed to Donna Kern, MD (kerndh@musc.edu).

Students will be notified one week in advance by e-mail to attend the mandatory clerkship Orientation / Academic Days / OSLE on the first 3 days of the rotation.   In addition to clerkship guidelines and instructions, students will be issued laptop computers with online capability, printers & PDA's--to be used as research & learning tools and to produce required clerkship presentations and documents.
