The University Board of Trustees selected
the firms of Perkins & Will
and Ayers Saint Gross to develop a University Master Plan in April of 1998.
The master planning process commenced in June of 1998 and
continued through April of 1999.
The Board of Trustees was briefed on the final draft master
plan, Vision 2020, at its April 1999 Board meeting. The Board took the following
action. It received the report as information and expressed its intent to appoint
a new Board standing committee on facilities with the understanding that the
draft master plan would be reviewed by the new standing committee and subsequently
returned to the Board for action.
The new Board committee, the Physical Facilities Committee,
was organized in the spring of 2000 and meets each time the Board does.
The new master plan, Vision
2020, was adopted by the Board of Trustees at the August 2000 meeting
and is now available on this webpage for viewing with Adobe Acrobat. For
information purposes we have also posted proposed Design
Guidelines. Adoption of the guidelines is anticipated in the near future.
