Directions to MUSC

I-26 from the West

Take I-26 East to Charleston. At the end of the interstate, bear right to take exit #221A, following signs for Rutledge Avenue. Take the Rutledge Avenue exit to the right, just past the first light. Turn left onto Rutledge Avenue. Note directional signs to MUSC/Hospital. Continue on Rutledge Avenue to Bee Street (approximately three blocks). Turn right on Bee Street. Just past the first light (Ashley Avenue), MUSC is on the left.

Highway 17 from the North

Take Highway 17 South into Charleston. After crossing the Grace Memorial Bridge from Mt. Pleasant to peninsular Charleston, take the Rutledge Avenue exit to the right, just past the first light. Turn left onto Rutledge Avenue. Note directional signs to MUSC/Hospital. Continue on Rutledge Avenue to Bee Street (approximately three blocks). Turn right on Bee Street. Just past the first light (Ashley Avenue), MUSC is on the left.

Highway 17 from the South

Follow Highway 17 North into Charleston. As you cross the Ashley River and the highway becomes Cannon Street, follow signs for I-26 and Highway 17. Remain to the right on Cannon Street, and at the second light turn right onto President Street. MUSC will be one block ahead.

Highway 171 from the East

Stay on Highway 171 (Folly Road) heading west. Follow signs for Charleston/Downtown and exit onto the James Island Connector. At the end of the connector, get in the left lane and follow the sign for Calhoun Street. At the second light, turn left onto Jonathan Lucas Street. You then will be on the MUSC campus.

Highway 61 from the West

Follow Highway 61 east, which will become Ashley River Road. The road will fork; stay to the left as indicated by signs for downtown Charleston. As you cross the Ashley River and the highway becomes Cannon Street, follow signs for I-26 and Highway 17. Stay to the right on Cannon Street, and at the second light, turn right onto President Street. MUSC will be one block ahead.

Parking

Parking for visitors and patients is located near the MUSC Hospital and Clinics. The main entrance to the MUSC Visitor/Patient Parking Lot G is located on President Street between Bee Street and Doughty/Jonathan Lucas Street. The entrance to the MUSC Visitor/Patient Parking Garage is located nearby at the intersection of President, Doughty, and Jonathan Lucas Streets. The entrance to the Rutledge Tower Parking Garage, located on the corner of Rutledge Avenue and Calhoun Street, is on Vanderhorst Street. Attendants are on duty at these locations.
