It is part of the Finance and Administration Division Strategic Plan to promote employee satisfaction and well being. One of the strategic objectives is to develop a mechanism for employees that provides anonymous feedback to supervisors as well as a direct line of communication to senior management. One way to achieve this is to utilize a suggestion box.

The Finance Suggestion Box is located in the lobby of the Harborview Tower next to the elevators.

Finance Suggestion Box Ground Rules

The Finance Suggestion Box is intended to address internal communications, only submissions from Finance staff will be accepted.

Suggestions, comments, or questions that fall outside these ground rules will not be accepted.

We will not respond to any comments or suggestions discrediting individuals. Such information can be mean spirited or otherwise harmful, and is not in keeping with our principle of teamwork.

You have our pledge that we will continue to support honest and open communication. You do not have to fear retribution as a result of a submission to the suggestion box.

The suggestion box was not set up to respond to questions requiring urgent or immediate response.

Our intention is to accept and investigate anonymous submissions, but you may sign any submission. Priority will be given to signed submissions and we will respond to you directly. The CFO will review each submission and will share it with the appropriate director if necessary. Anonymous submissions will be addressed each month at the CFO “drop–in” communication meeting.

Since we are not able to contact the originators of anonymous submissions, there is no way we can notify them if the submission does not fall within these ground rules and thus will not be addressed. If the originator does not see the item addressed at the drop-in within a reasonable amount of time, he/she can assume it did not meet the ground rules. If they disagree, they can resubmit with their rationale as to why they feel it does.

We will not use your name, even when you send it to us.

Unless specified otherwise, all responses from the suggestion box will be straight from the responsible and most knowledgeable University official or office.
