Description
The doctoral program in physical therapy is one of the three disciplines in the Rehabilitation Sciences Department. Physical therapists focus primarily on those individuals whose potential or actual impairment is related to musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary, and integumentary (skin) systems. The Physical Therapy program at MUSC has been a leader in utilizing effective and efficient instructional methods and materials that capitalize on the advantages of instructional technology. We have established diverse clinical education sites that provide our students with a broad-spectrum of clinical experiences. The cumulative MUSC physical therapy program national licensure pass rate (2002-2004) is 97%, consistently scoring above the national average. Physical Therapists are in high demand for their skill and experience. This is a profession filled with opportunities for growth and diversification.
