| Description
A
Master of Science in Nursing degree program for baccalaureate prepared
registered nurses. This graduate program prepares advanced practice nurses to function collaboratively with physicians and other health care disciplines in providing primary health care in a variety of ambulatory settings. Graduates of this program will be prepared to serve as health care providers for children and adults with common acute and chronic health conditions. Health promotion and disease prevention as well as teaching and counseling of individuals, families and groups are emphasized.
Graduates are eligible to obtain national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
Requirements
Applicants to the
program must have the following: recommended nursing GPA of 3.0 undergraduate preferred GPA of 3.0, Bachelors
of Science in Nursing from an accredited school, an undergraduate level
statistics course, and an active RN license.
