The M.D. degree is
designed for students who have completed at least 90 semester hours of
undergraduate coursework, although preference is given to students with
baccalaureate degrees. Applicants must first apply through AMCAS (American
Medical College Application Service) and the MCAT (Medical College Admission

Requirements
The Medical College
Admission Test (MCAT) scores are required for admission into the first-year
class. Preference is given to applicants who have completed four years
of college work and have earned a baccalaureate degree. Additional requirements

Application
Process
The Medical University of South Carolina College of Medicine participates in the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS). Electronic applications may be accessed through the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) website at http://www.aamc.org/.
To complete your file for the College of Medicine, three references or a letter from a pre-medical advisory committee must be submitted.
Letters of Recommendation should be submitted through AMCAS—we will no longer accept paper recommendations.
