Description
This innovative doctoral
degree program brings together health related executives with diverse
backgrounds, a resident faculty with advanced management knowledge and
research findings, and a visiting faculty that provides up-to-date knowledge
with relevant, real-world experience. This wealth of expertise, together
in an environment designed to expand knowledge, provides today's health
care professional with the right balance between theory and practice necessary
to succeed in this ever changing world. The curriculum consists of two
years of formal course work. The third year of the program will be devoted to individual,
supervised doctoral project research. The purpose of the doctoral project
is to give students an opportunity to work under the direction of a faculty
member to conceive, implement, and analyze an applied research problem
that generates new knowledge or adds a new perspective to existing knowledge.
The DHA program has been uniquely designed to fill a gap in health administration
education, which provides the participants with the cultural, humanistic,
and professional background that the changing health care field demands.
