Description
The Master of Science
degree in the College of Health Professions incorporates the latest state-of-the-art
cancer detection technologies into its teaching curriculum. Also, Cytotechnologists
prepare and diagnose fine needle aspirations from tumors in other organs
such as lymph nodes, liver, and pancreas. The program at MUSC is very
active in obtaining federal and corporate funding for molecular research
and operates a Center for Quality improvement in Gynecologic Cytopathology.
The employment rate for our graduates has been 100% for many years and
an increased shortage is predicted for the next 5 to 10 years.
Requirements
Preferred applicants
demonstrate a minimum GRE score of 1000 (verbal and quantitative) or 1500
(verbal, quantitative, and analytical) and a cumulative GPA of 3.0. Completion
of a baccalaureate degree is not required prior to entering this master's
