Description
The Cardiovascular Perfusion Program (CVP) is a baccalaureate program in the College of Health Professions at MUSC. Perfusionists are responsible for the maintenance of the patient's life during open-heart surgery when cardiac and respiratory functions are diverted to the heart-lung machine. MUSC's Cardiovascular Perfusion program is considered to be one of the best programs in the country. The program has an active research agenda focused on improving patient care through scientific evaluation of techniques and devices. The graduates of this program are among the most sought-after in the field with starting salaries around $70,000.

Requirements
Prerequisites for admission to the Cardiovascular Perfusion program consist of a minimum of two years (60 semester hours) at an accredited college or university, competitive SAT, ACT or GRE scores, and a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or above in all college work. In addition to the application itself the applicant must complete supplemental reference materials specific to the program to which they are applying. These forms are available in PDF format within the application and are also sent through email once an application is submitted. Applicants are required to submit official transcripts from each post-secondary school attended and all materials must be received by the application deadlines listed below.
