Description
The Microbiology and
Immunology Graduate Program is the largest discipline-based graduate program
at the Medical University of South Carolina. Our faculty have active research
programs in three broad areas which include Tumor Immunology and Immunotherapy, Environmental
Microbiology, and Immunopathogenesis. Students
may explore research areas such as cancer, complement biology, environmental
microbiology, gene therapy, immunogenetics, molecular and cellular
immunology, molecular microbiology, molecular pathogenesis, yeast biology,
cell signaling, tumor immunology, viral vector development, and virology.
Both advanced courses in microbiology and immunology as well as more focused

Requirements
In general applicants
are required to have a GPA of 3.0, a competitive GRE score (a competitive MCAT or DAT score may also be considered), and a baccalaureate
