American Academy of Emergency Medicine: www.aaem.org A national Emergency Medicine professional organization with strong national voice on pertinent EM issues such as residency training, board-certification and democratic practice issues; also with a resident/student section. Emergency Medicine Residents Association: www.emra.org An excellent organization and web resource with a special students section “Road to Residency” with several articles and links regarding pursuing residency and a career in Emergency Medicine, as well as resources for Emergency Medicine Interest Groups.
Society for Academic Emergency Medicine: www.saem.org National EM organization dedicated to academic EM issues including faculty development, student and resident education and research. SAEM’s website also has an excellent student section including a “Virtual Advisor” program for students.
