Pediatric Emergency Medicine Committee

In 2008, the MUSC Emergency Medicine Interest Group created the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Committee so that medical students with an interest in pediatric emergency care would have a consolidated resource devoted to that subspecialty.

The Peds Committee is responsible for coordinating the annual Pediatric EM talk and developing a pediatric simulation lab. It also is charged with providing information to EMIG members who would like further career guidance. The Peds Committee serves as a liason between EMIG members and the Pediatric ED personnel for shadowing experiences.

The Pediatric Committee with the invitation of its advisor, Dr. Scott Russell, MD, FAAP, will begin to encourage those interested in pediatric EM to become a part of the monthly PED journal club sessions.

Membership in the Pediatric EM Committee is open to all dues paying members of EMIG. No additional dues are required and there are no extra meetings to attend. If you are interested in assisting/joining, contact the Chair of the Peds Committee.
