Year Residency Program Curriculum |
The curriculum for the Trident Medical Center-MUSC Transitional
Year Residency is designed to give the residents broad exposure
to common medical problems both in hospital and ambulatory settings.
The curriculum is divided into 10 five-week blocks with a 2-week
orientation block. Curricular elements include:
- Two week orientation
- 5 blocks Family Medicine Inpatient Service
- 1 block Emergency Medicine
- 1 block Ambulatory Care
- 1 block Radiology
- 2 blocks Electives
Electives to choose from include:
- Abdominal imaging, Medical University of South Carolina
- Allergy/Immunology, Trident Medical Center
- Cardiology, Trident Medical Center
- Chest imaging, Medical University of South Carolina
- Gastroenterology, Trident Medical Center
- General Surgery, Trident Medical Center
- Neonatology, Trident Medical Center
- Nephrology, Trident Medical Center
- Neurology, Trident Medical Center
- Rheumatology, Trident Medical Center
- Pediatric radiology. Medical University of South Carolina
- Urgent care, Medical University of South Carolina Family
Medicine Clinic
In addition to this clinical curriculum, ample time is provided
for conferences and didactic learning opportunities. The standard
