| Masters
in Clinical Research |
The Masters in Clinical Research is tailored specifically for
MUSC health professionals who wish to pursue clinical research
careers. Participants in the program have included fellows from
the Department of Family Medicine faculty development program
as well as fellows in general internal medicine and general pediatrics.
One of the goals of the Masters in Clinical Research program is
that each participant have a completed R01 clinical research grant
ready for submission by the time they finish the program. This
grant proposal actually serves as the Thesis for the MS degree
and must be defended in a peer review process similar to that
for actual grant submissions.
The Master's Program is designed to be completed on a part time
basis on a two-year schedule. Individuals admitted to this program
complete a 38 academic credit hour masters program which is composed
of 25 semester hours of classroom lectures, 3 semester hours of
individual preceptorship in a one-on-one setting; 6 semester hours
of research, and 4 semester hours of out-of-department earned
academic credit.
