Biography
Dr. Gellin joined the faculty in 1985. He is the Interim Chair
of the Department of Stomatology, Director of the Division of Periodontics.
Dr. Gellin is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a Fellow
of the American College of Dentists and a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard
Academy.
Dr. Gellin
received his D.M.D. from the University of Kentucky, College of Dentistry
in 1980. He spent three years in the U.S. Public Health Service, including
a one year general practice residency. In 1985, Dr. Gellin earned his Certificate
in Periodontics and Master in Health Sciences from the Medical University
of South Carolina. He has given numerous presentations to dentists, dental
hygienists and dental assistants for local, state, national and international
dental organizations. Dr. Gellin maintains an active practice limited to
Periodontics within the College's Dental Faculty Practice.
Dr. Gellin also serves as chair of the College of Dental Medicine's clinic
management software (Axium) and is in part responsible for the design and
maintenance of the College's World Wide Web site.
