Case 11: Hypotension in Pregnancy
Part I.
Imelda Marcos is a 21 year old Fillipino women who is 38 weeks pregnant with her second child. She has been having a normal pregnancy to date except for some swelling in her feet which prompted her to go out shopping for new shoes. On the way home from the shoe store, witnesses report that they saw her car swerve and run into a Roper Hospital billboard. EMS found her dazed and confused a few minutes later and loaded her onto a stretcher to be transported to the Emergency Room. On arrival to the ER, she was found to have a blood pressure of 70/20 and a pulse of 130 and you were called to help.
