Extend your stay a couple days and enjoy Shaggin’ on the Pier at Folly Beach on June 13 and relaxing by the ocean during the day. Peruse Charleston City Market to witness first hand the art of weaving sweet grass baskets, appreciate local artisan crafts and jewelry, and settle into the southern spirit of downtown Charleston. Another must-see is the historic and colorful Rainbow Row of homes along East Bay Street, joined by a walk along The Battery with a view of Fort Sumter, where the first engagement of the Civil War took place April 12, 1861.
