The mission of DB²E is to advance knowledge in biostatistics, epidemiology, and bioinformatics, to provide education and training with respect to biostatistical, epidemiological, and bioinformatics methodologies to students across MUSC, and to apply knowledge of biostatistics, epidemiology, and bioinformatics to research conducted across MUSC and beyond.

The vision of DB²E is to become a major international center for education and research in biostatistics, epidemiology and bioinformatics. Our vision for education is to become a program of choice for best students, an employer of choice for the best faculty, and to produce sought after students. Our research vision is to be a resource for research activities for all of MUSC, to continue to increase our involvement in national and international collaborative research, and to continue to increase our own external peer-reviewed funding.
